What The Talia Team Are Wearing

By Talia Collective

Lacking inspiration on what to wear to a drinks party? Lost on what to pack for a weekend getaway? All in a dither about that upcoming business trip? The Talia team is here to help! Read on to discover the sustainable garments we’re wearing to different occasions.

On A City Break - Rebecca, Founder

“The fact that hopping on a plane to a sun-soaked Spanish city or coastal Grecian town doesn’t seem such a stretch anymore is a serious source of excitement for me. It would therefore only be right to match this sentiment with an equally cheerful outfit: enter the Reef Co-Ord Set. Aside from the colour, I love its relaxed fit and versatility, ideal for strolling the streets before transitioning into whatever the night may bring! It’s also made from Tencel, a sustainable cellulosic fibre that is ultra-soft and breathable. I’m a big believer in walking everywhere when in a new city so comfort is key, especially for footwear, and Yatay’s Irori Birch White trainers are my go-tos. They’re made from vegan corn leather which moulds perfectly to your feet, are durable, and look great paired with almost anything, making them one of the most useful additions to my wardrobe.

I’d match them with my white Cecilia Crossbody bag, which I love for its shape and size but most of all for its practicality, since a crossbody provides more security when travelling and allows you to keep it in sight at all times. Finishing touches are my Rebecca Manners Spinning Tagua Elephant Necklace made from Tagua nuts (also known as vegetable Ivory!) which I almost never take off, and Irene Forte’s SPF 50 Suncream, a 100% vegan, natural formula packed with omega-rich oils, Calendula and Vitamin E.”

On A Beach Escape - Maria Gabriella, Digital Assistant

“Summer might have only just finished but as a dedicated worshipper of the sun, I’m already on the lookout for my next sunny escape. Watching a setting sun sink beneath the horizon with the sound of gently lapping waves, the sand between my toes and that salty skin feeling is my definition of freedom and happiness. I’m constantly in and out of the water so a good quality swimsuit that allows me to move freely and dive deep is a must! Acantum’s Diana One-Piece has been one of my best purchases this summer, made from Econyl. This innovative fabric is a regenerated nylon made from ocean plastic (especially discarded fishing nets which cause huge damage to reefs and marine creatures) and is infinitely recyclable. It’s gaining serious traction with leading fashion brands such as Mara Hoffman, Stella McCartney and Prada, who are all using it in their lines.

I always carry Luks Linen’s hand-loomed, 100% cotton Meander Peshtemal with me which is lightweight and ideal for throwing over a hot rock to soak up the rays, plus SHI/DTO’s Time Preserving Urban Matt Face Sunscreen. This SPF 50+ sunscreen is non-greasy whilst being a powerful skin revitaliser, so ticks all the boxes! When things start to cool off, I like to throw on the Xavi Linen Top and Catalina Ruffled Skirt in terracotta and pair them with my Marianne Slippers, Silhouette Earring and Leila Bangle. I love the earthly colour palette and golden tones which allow me to blend into my surroundings!”aa

On A Yoga Weekend - Beatrice Barbato, Head Of Operations

“My goal in September is to start a real fitness and wellness routine, and it’s a well-known fact that this cannot be done without an exceptionally sleek, matching activewear set. The Minu’s Gummy Ipazia Top and Gummy Astrid Leggings are my favourites for their print and fit, made from Econyl and elastane weave which makes them supportive, breathable and smoothing – what more could you want? They also offer UV protection which means my Ipazia Top sneaks its way into my summer wardrobe on occasion!

I’m never without a couple of Peshtemals plus a long, linen bathrobe, all packed neatly away in ASK Scandinavia’s Lily Bag. This super practical carryall is designed to hold everything you could possibly need and is made from upcycled and recycled materials with metal details sustainably manufactured using only renewable energy. No training session is complete without a post-workout pampering session, which includes Fragile Cosmetics’ Glow and Flow Shampoo & Conditioner Set made from a blend of potent natural ingredients, WA:IT’s ANTE Body Scrub and Shi/dtu’s Hyaluronic Hydrating Serum. This power trio keeps me looking refreshed and revitalised even after the toughest of classes!”

On A Night Out - Elisa Vitale, Social Media Assistant

“The ‘night out’ has definitely taken on a new meaning in the past year, and whilst dance floors filled with people may still be a way off, any opportunity to go out, have fun and spend time with friends is a good enough excuse to dress up! And what better way to do it than with the show-stopping Gloria Feather Dress? This playful swing dress gets you noticed whatever the social distance, and is made from 100% floral turquoise silk upcycled from vintage designer clothing and deadstock ostrich feathers. And why stop the statement there, when you can add a contrasting red heel? Shekudo’s Ilamoye Heels are favourites of mine and ultra-comfortable thanks to a thick block heel and 100% cotton Aso Oke weave, ethically made in Nigeria.

My cactus leather Ivy Clutch and cheeky Beverly Thong from Troo bring in some darker elements, but I’d keep the drama high with Fragile Cosmetics’ Volumising & Texturing Hair Spray. A slick of  B-Soffice Butter to add a light sheen to the skin, and I’m ready to go!”

To A Cocktail Party - Arianna Derossi, Business Development Associate

“I’ve always been drawn to suits for their power and elegance and I think Alter Designs’ sleek matching blazer and trouser set is perfect for making a statement at a cocktail party. I’d bring in a touch of femininity with Troo’s floral Bonnie Lingerie Set, which is made from beautifully soft off-cut lace, and use Irene Forte’s Helichrysum Hyaluronic Toner for glowing, radiant skin. Living in Paris has a host of benefits but unfortunately none for the skin, with pollution and the hardness of the water often playing havoc. Irene’s toner has been a lifesaver, soothing and hydrating my skin and providing protection against these ageing factors!

Committing to the silver ensemble, I’d pair the look with my handmade Elevated Essential Strappy Sandals in silver and Shekudo’s simple Amaka Earrings, before bringing in a splash of green with my Miramar Mini Bucket Bag. This pint-sized pouch has just enough space to fit everything I need!”

To The Theatre - Alexa Scott-Dalgleish, Content Manager

“Any excuse to dress up and I’m in, and whilst most theatres no longer come with a strict formal dress code, why pass up a perfectly good opportunity when it comes along? I’ve always favoured long, flowing garments for their drama and elegance and Little Things Studio’s Mari Dress embodies this aesthetic perfectly, made from Orange Fiber – a sustainable fabric generated from discarded orange peel – and with a flouncing, tiered skirt. I love this brand for its ethereal pieces that fuse western aesthetics with traditional Indian fabrics and handicrafts.

I’d add gold details with Coscollar’s Après Moi Le Déluge earrings and Gallows Choker necklace and pair it with Shekudo’s black strap heels. At 5’10”, it’s not often that I wear heels but these are some of the most comfortable I’ve owned, made from byproduct leather leftover from the meat industry. I’d finish off the look with a spritz of Romilly Wilde’s IDLE Eau de Parfum (which I discovered years ago when I insisted on stopping someone in the street to ask what incredibly intoxicating perfume they were wearing!) and a Hoxton Clutch, perfectly sized for storing the evening’s Programme — my keepsake from every trip to the theatre.”

On A Work Trip - Rosanna Campbell-Gray, Sustainability Consultant

My years of working as a travel PR have trained me to travel pretty light so if I’m going for less than a week, I always take hand luggage (a BEEN London backpack if it’s just for two nights) and make sure to pack outfits that work well for both day and night. Depending on the baggage restrictions, I’ll also try to sneak on a BEEN London Fields Tote, which is surprisingly roomy and perfect for carrying around a laptop all day. I try not to let my eco-habits slip when abroad so my bag has to have space for a refillable water bottle!

I always take my ESSEN Modern Oxfords on work trips which I love for both their appearance and the fact that they can be worn as slips on or lace-ups, which makes them great for transitioning between formal meetings to more casual dinners. When possible I travel by train which, in Europe at least, are notoriously well air-conditioned so I layer up with a cosy but lightweight Mansken Turtleneck Jumper. If I’m going for two nights, I’ll pack my favourite Lunes Topstitch Pants with a versatile Wrap Blouse or Knitted Top for the day and change into a Vernisse Collared Shirt for the evening.
