About The Brand
AESSAI is a London-based lifestyle brand which specialises in luxurious featherweight wraps, blankets, scarves, bags and cushions. Ethically handcrafted by a fair trade collective called Manos del Uruguay, it gives artisan women from remote rural areas in Uruguay the opportunity to become financially independent. Its Argentinian founder, Rebecca Kramer, is dedicated to the celebration and protection of local South American crafts and traditions and sources Merino wool from Uruguay and Patagonia, Alpaca wool from the Peruvian Andes and Chaguar from the Wichi people of the Artentine Amazon, a textile highly threatened by deforestation and cattle herding.
