Water Usage: 1 People prioritises fabrics that don't use excessive amounts of water such as regenerated silk and GOTS-certified cotton. It chooses to work with low water usage artisan manufacturers wherever possible and those that are implementing water usage reduction schemes, such as its Indian partner, Creatnet, which has recently installed a rainwater harvesting/ echarge system to replenish the groundwater levels.

Friendly Materials: 1 People uses a host of innovative sustainable materials that include GOTS-certified cotton, TENCEL Lyocell, Pinatex, Econyl, Regenerated silk and Tagua Nut, also known as 'Vegetable Ivory'. The brand is also striving to become 100% cruelty-free and will acheive this shortly with all silk products made from regenerated silk only. The dyes use to colour clothing is certified by GOTS, OEKO-TEX® & bluesign® whilst those to dye face masks and underwear are 100% natural.

Giveback Culture: 1 People donates 40% of its total profit to three different areas: 1. Business For Planet, which educates social entrepreneurs for free. 2. Feed The Hungry, which fights poverty short-term. 3. Youth Education, which support proper education for children.

Considerately Produced: 1 People makes use of multiple sustainable materials and all waste fabric is sent to a facility in Indonesia where they grind, re-spin and weave it into new fabric. It uses only trusted suppliers and certified producers when buying fabric and materials, such as Lenzing an GOTS, in in order to aid supply chain transparency. The brand is also 92% cruelty free and looking for alternatives to their silk prooducts.

Packaging: Each 1 People product is packed in a reusable box made from recycled paper at a small family-owned company in Bali. This in turn is packed in recycled cardboard paper with recycled paper stuffing if necessary. It is then put in a biodegradable cassava starch poly bag and collected by the courier.
