- Description
These trainers feature vegan leather, ‘corn leather’, which is made using polymers extracted from grains. The lining is made from and innovative material made from tree pulp, which is silky soft and ensures dryness and freshness all day long. The insoles, which feature tiny black flocks, are made from recycled rubber and are highly resistant and cushioned to ensure maximum comfort. The exterior of the trainers, which is made from recycled plastic bottles, is soft to the touch and light to the eyes and ensure the trainers are durable and waterproof for maximum resistance.

Water Usage: 99% of water in the production process of the bio leather is recovered through a water recovery system.
Circularity Centered: All Yatay trainers come with a unique code, found on the heel of the shoes, which allows customers to send back their trainers at the end of their lifecycle and ensure they are recycled accordingly. The rubber soles are recycled, and the remaining components are sustainably disposed of. Cruelty Free: Yatay is 100% cruelty free and doesn’t test on animals. Yatay is PeTA Approved Vegan.

Friendly Materials: Yatay is USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) certified. This means that the materials used in the production of Yatay’s bio-leather are organic and raw materials with an extremely low environmental impact. The natural materials used for the trainers include corn grains to produce the vegan leather, and tree pulp for the lining. The tree pulp harvest is obtained from 100% sustainable plantations. The other materials used are recycled from tires and plastic bottles.
Giveback Culture: Yatay partners with NGO Retake in their recycling scheme, which allows them to recycle their trainers whilst helping communities in the process.
Locally Crafted: All Yatay trainers are handmade by master shoemakers in the Italian region of Marche following time-honoured traditions handed down from generation to generation reinterpreted using modern technology. All materials used are sourced in Italy, allowing for high-quality materials, control over the supply chain, and reduced carbon footprint.
Considerately Produced: Yatay uses recycled materials for both their insole and exterior part of their trainers. The insole is made from recycled rubber and the exterior is made by recycling plastic bottles. Yatay is also committed to offsetting their CO2 emissions by planting a tree for each pair of sneakers sold. Customers are provided with a unique code, found on the heel of each trainer, which allows them to plant and chose the tree they wish to plant. Packaging: All Yatay shoe boxes double up as a backgammon board and include the backgammon pieces inside a little bag. The packaging is fully recycled. The shoes and their boxes are delivered inside cardboard boxes sealed with paper tape.
