Sustainability
Water Usage: MASTERS OF LINEN®-mark and OEKO-TEX® 100 Standard-Label. Linen is made of flax, growing flax doesn’t compromise food crops, requires minimal water and no pesticides.
Circularity Centered: All products are 100% biodegradable and Arkitaip has a ‘take-back-scheme’ in place I order to ensure an ‘afterlife’ for all products and materials. The swimwear collections uses booth recycled linen and ECONYL®, a regenerated nylon yarn made of ocean debris. All hangtags are made of sugarcane waste.

All fabrics also carry OEKO-TEX® 100 Standard-Label meaning that they have been tested for harmful substances and have been certified harmless in human ecological terms. All buttons used (mother-of-pearl and Corozo) are natural and biodegradable. The swim suite collection is made using yarn composed of 80% recycled and 20% virgin linen and is lined with 100% ECONYL®.

Vegan: No animal derived materials are used in Arkitaip products.
Giveback Culture: Arkitaip regularly donates, on a project basis, to humanitarian and environmental causes. Together with Hotel Magique they designed a scarf collection for which 50% of all proceeds were donated to the International Rescue Committee.
Locally Crafted: All garments are made in Europe in a family-run production in Ermesinde, North of Portugal. The production is owned by Fatima and her daughter Monica who, together, employ seven seamstresses. Fatima and Monica pay their team the national living wage and have put EU-conform, fair working hours in place. The crochet collection is handmade in Austria by Michi, Co-founder of Arkitaip.
Considerately Produced: Arkitaip guarantees that every person involved is paid a fair salary and is protected by the EU's European Employment Strategy. Production-related flights are offset via Offset Earth and carbon-neutral shipping couriers (UPS) are used to distribute products. Each piece comes with a hangtag made of sugarcane waste. All garments are wrapped in reusable tote bags made from organic cotton. When shipped the items are place in home-compostable shipping mailers.

- About the Brand
About the Brand
Founded in 2018 by mother-daughter duo Michi and Lea Wieser, Arkitaip was born out of the desire to create timeless, effortless, and durable garments without hurting the planet. This began with the hunt for the 'perfect fabric', which had to be natural, biodegradable, have a low environmental impact and be entirely sourceable from Europe to minimise the carbon footprint. MASTERS OF LINEN®-certified linen ticked all of these boxes and also came with a zero-waste production process and OEKO-TEX® 100 Standard-Label, making it the clear winner. With a strong focus on an ethical supply chain and the preservation of artisanal skills (Michi hand-makes their crochet range), the duo wants to foster the relationship between garment and wearer, opening up the dialogue about a more conscious consumption behaviour.
- Fit & Care
Fit & Care
Fits true to size. Length can be adjusted by 5cm.
Model is wearing a size S and is 172cm tall.Treat your linen piece with care and wash it preferably by hand.
When machine-washing it, wash it at max. 30° and on a gentle wash cycle (400-600 RPM) to protect the garment's fibers.
Use a mild and preferably organic detergent to best preserve the piece's colour and fit.
Lay it flat to dry - tumble drying is bad for the environment anyways.
