Sustainability

Water Usage: 99% of water in the production process of the corn leather is recovered through a water recovery system. All products are handcrafted by local artisans and no water is used in the manufacturing process. No virgin materials are used which significantly reduces the amount of water.

Friendly Materials: The sustainable materials used for the trainers include corn grains to produce the vegan leather, R-PET (100% made from recycled plastic bottles) for the lining and laces; biodegradable outsoles (made with bio oils) and natural latex. The corn leather is USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) certified which means that the materials used in the production of products are organic and raw materials with an extremely low environmental impact. All products are handcrafted using zero waste pattern cutting techniques.

Giveback Culture: Oroz & Co partners with NGO, Seas Trees. Its donations aid Sea Trees to plant Mangroves forests around the world, which are estimated to sequester 5-10 times more CO2 out of the atmosphere per hectare than tropical rainforests. By implementing this Offsetting Program, it is able to reduce its Carbon Footprint while regenerating the Ocean.

Locally Crafted: All Oroz & Co trainers are handcrafted by experienced artisans in Elda, the footwear capital in Spain, following time-honoured traditions handed down from generation to generation reinterpreted using modern technology.

Considerately Produced: Oroz & Co uses by-waste bio and recycled materials only. It always tries to achieve a zero waste design and manufacturing process and donates to Sea Trees NGO to offset our CO2 emissions from production and shipping. All materials are locally sourced in Europe (mostly Spain and Italy), allowing for high-quality materials, control over the supply chain, and reduced carbon footprint. All products are made-to-order to reduce waste.

Packaging: All boxes, stickers, tape and tissue paper are made of FSC certified recycled and recyclable paper and cardboard (from responsibly cultivated forests) and printed with soy-based inks, an eco-friendly alternative to petroleum-based inks made from soybeans. All products come with a dust bag made of European certified organic cotton and dyed with eco dyes. All packaging is sourced in Europe to help reduce Oroz & Co's carbon footprint

About The Brand

Oroz & Co was born in London in 2020 as a cruelty-free and slow fashion brand, in response to a fashion cycle that goes too fast - overproducing, chasing trends, and wasting more than it can sustain. It ethically produces footwear and bags in its Spain-based atelier using innovative materials that are not only 100% vegan and cruelty-free, but often also organic, recycled, recyclable and safe for the planet. In every step of the process, it is committed to reducing waste and produces limited quantities of products whilst getting creative with excess materials.
